In the past, the TV has come on by itself, toys have come on by themselves and the light in the bedroom closet comes on by itself. These things have not scared me. My 3 year old son has always talked about seeing people in the house that I cannot see and he has not been afraid either. He has told me that an older man that he called his grandpa was a very nice man and an older lady told him that she loved him. These things only confirmed to me that if indeed someone was in the house, they were relatives and were watching over us.

Last night I couldn’t go to sleep. I was tired but could not sleep. I remember before going to sleep thinking that my room looked really hazy and thinking that maybe I was just really tired. I finally went to sleep around 12:30 a.m. At about 4am I woke up because I heard a door opening. I tried to sit up in bed to see if the back door in the room was opening but I could not move my body, only barely lift my head. I saw the door open but could not see outside. I saw a very bright light. I was very scared and kept telling myself to tell whatever it is that it is not welcome. So I tried, but I could not talk. It was like I was screaming inside but nothing would come out.

Suddenly my body felt cold and I had chills and I felt like something had came into my body and then I saw the door shut and I was able to move and talk and was not cold any more. I started thinking to myself that it was all in my head and it didn’t really happen. Just as I processed the thought, my 3 year old son who was sleeping beside me woke up and told me he had pee’d the bed (which he doesn’t do very often) so I got up and cleaned him up and we went back to bed.

As we laid down he said “Who is saying my name?”. I asked him who was saying his name and he said he didn’t know and then he went back to sleep. I was terrified, so I called my fiancé who is 2 states away and made him talk to me until I feel asleep again.

When I woke up a few hours later my son was still sleeping, as he woke up he mumbled something about the door being open and when I asked him what he said, he woke up fully and didn’t know what he had just said.

My son usually gets out of bed and goes to the bathroom by himself in the mornings and gets a drink by himself, but this morning he was scared to be anywhere in the house without me by his side. While I was getting dressed he was standing beside me and let out a big sigh, I asked him why he did that he and he said because of the bad people there. I asked what bad people and he just pointed to the corner of the room.

My sister lived in this house for a few years after my grandmother passed (before I did) and she told me that similar things happened to her with the lights and such. The Truth? In my view, just like any other exceptional skill, you simply need to practice! I get a lot of people asking me what the best way to learn Tarot Cards is. Then before I even get a chance to answer them, they say something like, “Should I get a book? Should I memorize the meanings of each card? Should I make index cards?” And the questions go on and on. Well, let me set the record straight here in this article. All of the above are okay methods for learning Tarot Cards, but if you really want to learn the cards in your deck, there is one method that works above all others and by using it, you’ll never forget the meanings of the cards. So sit back and get ready to learn the Tarot like you’ve never learned it before.

Let me start out by saying that this method of learning works best with a Tarot Card deck that is illustrated as close to the meaning of the card as possible. When I explain what I mean, you’ll understand. In the meantime, if you want an easy deck to learn the cards using the method I am going to teach you, I recommend getting the Rider Waite Tarot. It is by far the best deck to learn using the method I am about to reveal.

Okay, let’s begin.

Let’s face it. The best way to learn anything in life is through visual. There is a reason why they say that a picture is worth a thousand words. It’s true. Sometimes a picture can tell you everything you need to know about a subject.

The Rider Waite Tarot has the most accurate illustrations in regard to the actual meaning of the cards themselves. The best way to explain this is with some examples.

Let’s take the 3 Of Swords. The illustration shows 3 swords piercing a heart with rain coming down from the clouds in the background. This card’s meaning is one of deep sorrow and loss. This should be more than obvious by looking at the illustration itself since we associate sorrow and loss with a broken heart. By fixing yourself on the illustration and associating it with what is actually happening in the illustration, you should have no problems remembering what this card means.

Let’s take the 8 Of Swords. This illustration shows a person tied up with 8 swords around them. The meaning of the card is that the person in the spread feels very restricted and is unable to make any decisions. You can think of being restricted in the same sense as being tied up. If somebody ties you up, you’re unable to do anything. This is an excellent illustration for the meaning of this card.

Let’s take one final example, the 6 Of Pentacles. This illustration shows one person dropping coins into another person’s hands. This card means that you are going to finally enjoy the fruits of your labors and deserve what is rightfully yours. Again, an excellent illustration for the meaning of this card.

The Rider Waite Tarot is a perfect deck to learn by using this method. Once you’ve done this, you can then read any Tarot deck in existence simply by transferring the visual of the Rider Waite illustration to the deck that you’re reading.

It does take a little practice and time, as with anything, but this is a much better method than just trying to memorize the meaning of each card. I have no doubt that by using this method, you’ll be reading Tarot cards faster than with any other method in existence.

It is not a requisite to reading tarot successfully. If it makes you feel good to do all that I mentioned with your tarot cards then do so. If you want to achieve a proper mindset, go ahead. Don’t let the mechanics of a ritual outweigh the purpose. All the power depends on us. The power is with us, not in the tarot decks.

Tarot cards nowadays come in different themes (Dragon, Baseball, Herbal, Mythic etc.) Buy one whose images you like. It’s one way to personally connect with your cards, which is a must for reading tarot effectively. Just one thing, though when you buy themed decks where all images relate to one main concept like a fairy that appears in every card(as in fairy themed deck), will get in the way with interpreting the symbols. Okay….but can a psychic REALLY communicate with people who have passed over? Isn’t that all just pretend?

Aren’t psychics spiritual by nature?

In my experience, yes…they are. While there are never blanket generalities that fit ALL groups of people, most psychics that I’ve met personally and professionally have had a pre-disposition to being spiritually sensitive and mindful of this “side” of human existence. Why? I think just the natural experience of feeling empathy for other people, and practicing compassion in general is a very spiritual exercise, and one that simply hard wires your personality and perspective to see the softer and sensitive side of human experience. (which is usually the domain of the “spirit”, rather than the body)

Don’t you HAVE to be pretty spiritually oriented to be psychic in the first place?

Actually, this comes up a lot…but I say, NO….you don’t! While most psychics do tend to be spiritually minded, I think that ANYONE can be psychic. And because of this, it’s certainly possible to be gifted and simply not believe in ANYTHING at all in the matters of spirit. I’ve heard of psychics who simply think they’re brains are wired differently than the rest of us, giving them an advantage when it comes to intuition…..but that’s as far as it goes for them!

What about psychics who speak to the dead? That is a pretty special spiritual skill, right?

Agreed! I’ve met plenty of these psychics and have spoken to many more on the phone. The key distinction here is that almost 100% of psychic mediums who talk to the “other side” tend to believe in ALL things spiritual! And why wouldn’t they? If your normal experience is that of speaking to entities in other realm of existence…and you believe that we all ultimately go to a very similar place, it’s actually hard NOT to believe that spirituality plays a large role in our existence as human beings here..as well as the worlds that wait for us beyond!

My own beliefs are simple….

I believe we are ALL spiritual beings having a decidedly human experience! (The quote made famous by the brilliant philosopher and psychic Telliard De Chardin many years ago)

What we see is merely a fraction…and an illusion of a wonderful world of magic, mystery and LIGHT that is hidden from most of us, most of the time. The gifted amongst us, most notably the psychically gifted, have ONE foot in this world….and one foot in THAT world at all times! That’s what I believe….and I’ve had a lifetime of personal experiences to prove it’s true!
